“I was surprised, as always, by how easy the act of leaving was, and how good it felt.
The world was suddenly rich with possibility.” – Jack Kerouac
Wanderer’s Blues is the story of Marijke and Jeroen, a cocky, self-proclaimed explorer and a creative and open-minded photographer, who are always eager to go on an adventure. The more we’re ‘on the road’, the more we are amazed by all this beautiful cities, villages, landscapes, cultures and people who cross our path. We created Wanderer’s Blues in order to share this beauty by telling stories and by sharing travel tips and photos.
As true wanderer’s we love wandering around and discovering new places and people. Although we firmly believe that travelling is a personal enrichment, we cannot deny that travelling comes at a price. But this financial inconvenience does not stop us from travelling around. With a creative and a not too demanding attitude, travelling does necessarily have to be expensive. You will find plenty of budget tips in our blogs to inspire you to travel on a tight budget.
All these travel-goodness is also topped with a sauce of ecological responsibility. These fanatic travelers will continue to travel the world, but with minimal impact on the environment. The more we travel, the more we are amazed by the miraculous -but unfortunately precarious- beauty of our planet. We want do not want to limit us to encourage you to explore the world, but we will also give tips for environmental-friendly lifestyle!
All of this will be done with a healthy sense of humor. We firmly believe that humor is an important weapon against cynicism. Believe us, walking around in Istanbul with a sprained ankle, hiking in snowy Trondheim with an injured knee, locking ourselves out of apartment with a temperature of -8° in Norway, discovering you have a Midges-allergy in the deserted Scottish Highlands and being stuck in a thunderstorm in the middle of the Balkan Mountains,… are far more bearable if you can put things in perspective and if you have a sense of humour.
Every Tuesday and Thursday you can expect a new post and on Sundays, we will surprise you with the Photo of the Week! Those who like a sneak peak can follow Wanderer’s Blues on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. Excited as we are, we give our followers a litter glimpse into our upcoming posts. Oh yes… do not hesitate to share your own travel tips in the comments. We are always looking for new experiences and travel inspiration!
